Luxury Hotel Secrets - Get The Look of The Newt Hotel, In Collaboration with Mr and Mrs Smith

To celebrate the launch of Mr and Mrs Smith vouchers now available for your wedding list, we have pulled together an edit of some of our most loved brands to help you recreate five-star hotel style in your own homes, based on some of our favourite Mr and Mrs Smith hotels. Today we are celebrating The Newt in Somerset. A seamless blend of old and new can be seen throughout this heavenly abode, where antiques complement bespoke pieces and modern additions. A natural palette of subtle greens draws the outside in, gentle wooden features create the cosy and pops of jewel tones bring it all to life. From the people behind Bablystoren in South Africa, this was always going to be a very special UK staycation destination. We show you how you can create this effortless and timeless style in your own home with your wedding presents.

Bedroom

A beautiful bedroom in the Newt hotel. A four poster bed is made up with white sheets and a grey cashmere throw. At the end of the bed is a luxurious green velvet sofa with a little gold side table next to it.

There are some quick and easy tweaks that anyone can make to their bedroom to mimic to timeless and traditional look of bedrooms at The Newt. If space allows, think about encorporating seating - a small sofa is a lovely addition to a room, allowing you another space to relax comfortably. An armchair in the corner of the room, or an ottoman at the end of the bed are also great options. Another simple way to create interest in a room is to encorporate different contrasting textures, such as velvet, cashmere and wool with metal accents like copper. This bedroom in The Newt focuses on a tonal and complimentary colour palette which we love.

Sitting Room

A sitting room within the Newt Hotel in Somerset. The room is modern yet traditional filled with gold frames and velvet furniture.

Taking inspiration from the sitting rooms at The Newt, choose rich jewel colours such as burgundy, teal and green and add in copper or gold accents to add a stately, luxurious finish. If you have a fireplace, point all the chairs towards it, making it the focal point in the room.

Bathroom

A bathroom in the Newt Hotel.

For the bathroom, add some simple luxurious touches such as a velvet chair, a rug and some bold mirrors that you might not expect in a bathroom. Bathrooms can often feel rather clinical and practical, but they really don't need to be!
