Today we are delighted to share the stunning winter wedding of WPC couple Sophie and Graeme. On a crisp day in December, Sophie and Graeme held their wedding ceremony in a Hampshire Church followed by a short drive in a vintage Bentley to their wedding venue, Langrish House. Their florist transformed the reception room into a magical winter garden. Sophie wore a beautiful short sleeved and pearl embellished wedding dress, which she designed with BAO Boutique, and Graeme wore a tartan kilt. Read on as Sophie highlights special moments of their day, their favourite wedding presents and all of the amazing suppliers who helped bring their magical wedding day to life.
We were recommended to go with The Wedding Present Company by lots of our friends - we had heard the experience and collection were second to none... we weren’t disappointed! From the first contact Lucy was so helpful and supportive, even in restricted times we felt like the process was seamless.
Some of our favourite brands available at The Wedding Present Company were Club Matters, Le Creuset, Nkuku
The Vintage List, Schott zwiesel and Burleigh.
We are a very decisive couple, so when you were recommended to us and we had our first meeting with Lucy, it felt like a great fit! No need to continue looking, we had found everything we were looking for when it came to a bespoke wedding gift list experience.
We haven’t had our delivery yet, but we can’t wait!
I knew when Graeme proposed it would be very personal and private. He proposed while walking our Beagle in Richmond Park in Nov 2019. Completely unaware I dragged him on a 9km walk, exhausted we stopped on a bench and just as the sun finally came out he got down on one knee and proposed.
We got married in a small Church in East Meon in Hampshire. The service was our favourite moment of the day. We chose the church due to family history and connection, so we were lucky to have a Reverend we knew well. While we couldn't sing hymns due to Covid restrictions, we still selected music and readings that amplified the atmosphere to fill the whole church.
Then we had our wedding reception at Langrish House in Langrish.
"We had always intended on a winter wedding, for all of its seasonal fun and festivities that time of year brings. Nestled in an old Hampshire village, our flower theme was a magical winter garden, providing an abundance of warmth and character. We were wrapped in love and laughter throughout the day, only focused on enjoying the celebrations with our close family."
We had lighting from Cinemattag Productions and then our florist JenniBloom transformed the room into a magical winter garden inside.
Our florist was JenniBloom. I couldn’t recommend her more!!! She is an artist, a true visionary!
I designed my wedding dress myself with the wizardry of BAO Boutique in Richmond. My shoes were from Bella Belle. I wore hair accessories from Swarovski and a bracelet from Blackacre London which was a wedding present.
Grace from Lips & Locks did my hair and make up on the morning of our wedding.
Graeme wore his family tartan kilt.
Our caterer for our wedding breakfast was Vanilla catering. We had two cocktails - Old fashioneds and Picante de La casas and then lots of Malt Whisky.
Nicola Streader Photography was our wedding photographer and we are delighted with our images.
Our videographer was Rupert Ward-Lewis and we thrilled with our video, it is such a lovely way to relive the day.
Abbey Mordue sang at our reception. Our first dance song was 'Sunday Kinda Love' by Etta James.
We used E.Y.I LOVE, an incredible boutique stationer based in Scotland.
For me it was waking up and knowing that today was going to change my life, the happiest and most significant day of our lives. We weren’t blessed with the best weather, however it just happened to be sunny and a rainbow appeared over the church as we left. I think for Graeme it was being able to have his parents on Zoom, it felt like they didn’t miss a minute. Our families have been amazing!
Planning a wedding in the middle of a pandemic is incredibly difficult, the uncertainty and ever changing rules means you struggle to keep a positive focus at times. However if you can look past everything being ‘perfect’, you will be able to find an even greater happiness focussing on what really matters, which is your union. Small weddings aren’t for everyone, but we highly recommend it! It gives you time to remember what’s really important on your day. Never forget it’s all about you two, take the time to enjoy it together and be forgiving of the changing emotions along the way.
