Join us as we imagine what wedding presents Harry and Meghan would choose for their wedding list with The Wedding Present Company.
Unless you’ve been living in a cave in the middle of the Atlas Mountains, you’ll be aware that the wedding of the year is taking place this month. HRH Prince Harry is marrying American actress Miss Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle on the 19th May. Here at The Wedding Present Co. we are huge fans of Harry and Meghan. Both are a real breath of fresh air for the British Monarchy, we love their happy-go-lucky attitude and don’t get us started on Meghan’s wardrobe!
The happy couple have chosen 7 charities which guests can support in place of a traditional wedding present. Here at The Wedding Present Co. charitable donations are very close to our hearts, which is why we donate 2% of the value of every wedding list to a charity of the couple’s choice. The donation always comes from our pocket.
It has been reported that the happy couple have a small list of interior based presents for their closest family and friends, below we have chosen our top wedding presents that we think would be perfect for the royal couple.
Harry and Meghan epitomize the perfect balance between modern and traditional; respecting Royal tradition but adding their own modern approach. We believe their wedding list would be a real mix of traditional, must-have wedding presents and some more fun and unexpected choices.
We all know that our party-loving Prince enjoys the odd tipple, so drinks-based presents would play an influential part in their wedding list. Traditional cut glass is a must for any Royal household so these Cumbria Crystal coups are perfect for quaffing any leftover Chapel Down fizz. For cosy nights in Sandringham nothing is better than a tumbler of local Whisky served in a matching decanter. Meghan is renowned for her love of Super-Tuscan red Tiganello (she even named her lifestyle blog The Tig after it), so it goes without saying that a decanter and perfectly matched red wine glasses need to be on the list. Cue Riedel and Schott.
It’s no secret that Harry is a keen dancer - from dancing with locals on Royal Tours to THAT pool party - so music based presents are a must for this fun-loving couple. Every wedding list should have a Roberts Radio – perfect for those morning breakfast shows in the kitchen. We also know that Harry is chums with Coldplay’s Chris Martin so it’s likely he has a few signed vinyls from the main-man himself, so a turntable from GPO Retro is sure to be a winner. For stress free partying, Sonos is our go to. Hook up a playlist and you’re sorted for the night – sounds right up H & M’s street!
Harry and Meghan’s relationship blossomed on holidays to Jamaica and Botswana, so travel is obviously a shared love of theirs. Bostwana in particular holds a special place in their hearts as it is rumoured that it was here, camping under the stars, that they decided to spend the rest of their lives together. As we know, Meghan’s stunning engagement ring is focused around a diamond from Botswana. So here are some travel and Africa based presents that are sure to have a special place in Harry and Meghan’s hearts.
Meghan is a keen cook and advocate of healthy but delicious meals, and it was widely reported that Harry officially proposed in Kensington Palace over a cosy roast chicken dinner, which we couldn’t love more. So we’ve chosen our top presents for entertaining and dinner parties, as we’re sure that Nottingham Cottage will be the address for many a late-night dinner party!
Harry and Meghan are an active couple, so sporty and outdoor pursuits presents would be the perfect choice for the young royals. A gorgeous deck chair will be perfect for those London heat waves in the Palace gardens, and a croquet set for the Queen’s garden party is an absolute must. A plastic backed Polo rug is perfect for Meghan and all the polo matches she will be watching Harry play in, in the years to come.
