I work in interior design, so I was drawn to The Wedding Present Company due to the brands that you have a relationship with. Jack and I are very particular about our home and our style. The Wedding Present Company enabled us to tailor a wedding gift list that suited our wants and catered to our design. I knew the experience with The Wedding Present Company would be perfect from the moment that I stepped into the showroom.
We chose The Wedding Present Company for our wedding gift list because we adored the suppliers they work with and the service that they offer. The Wedding Present Company is so special and unique, providing couples with a bespoke opportunity to tailor a wedding gift list to their needs. It had exactly everything we were looking for, particularly in terms of gift list flexibility and the design aspect. The whole process has been luxurious, and we would recommend The Wedding Present Company to anyone.
We were coming up to eight years together, so I knew the moment was in sight. My parents (Jess) have a holiday home in Fowey, and over years of visiting together with Jack, it slowly became a very special place for us too. We were all there for a family party over the weekend, and after everyone left, Jack and I decided to stay on for a few more days.
The sun was shining away, and we had the most perfect hot June day at Portscatho Beach with lunch at the Hidden Hut. On the way back to Fowey, Jack suggested that we head to the beach for the evening to play some boules.
As we walked there, Jack said that he wanted us to walk up to St. Catherine's Castle, a spot that I would visit with my family as a child. I was tired, so I tried to resist it, but Jack insisted. When we got to the top, I looked around, breathing in the scenery, forgetting how beautiful it was with the views across the Fowey estuary and all across the ocean. As I turned back around to Jack, there he was on one knee. I couldn't stop crying the most amazing happy tears; all my dreams were coming true.
We sat, drinking champagne, as we watched the sunset before heading to the Fowey Harbour Hotel on the way back for cocktails.
We wanted the style of our wedding to be graceful and timeless. The location and the wedding venue spoke for themselves, so the interior needed to be paired back with a priority on green and white flowers, along with candles, to complement the natural elegance of the space.
I work in procurement and sourcing for an interior designer, so I am very particular about suppliers. I spent hours researching to find the very best.
As soon as I spoke to our florist Marisa, we instantly connected. She was a complete dream come true, and she set the basis for the style and how I moved forward. I was very particular about using local Cornish suppliers or people in my village in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire.
One supplier I adored in particular was Amare - a boutique where I got my dress from. She totally understood who I was and my style and helped me find my dream dress. She then advised on jewellery to pair it with, and that is when I spoke to Lori Muldoon.
My other favourite supplier was Annie, who did all our wedding favours. Annie has the most exquisite candle shop in Great Missenden, and there is no other candle supplier like her. Annie helped advise on our candles for the wedding table and made all of our wedding favours - the coffee candles. The rooms smelled incredible!
We always imagined getting married at the Fowey Harbour Hotel, so the same evening we got engaged, we spoke to the manager, and we booked a viewing for later in the week. We booked the wedding venue a week after that. Both Jack and I knew it was the one, and we didn't need to see anywhere else.
The Fowey Harbour Hotel is the most beautifully decorated hotel, so it didn't need too much additional wedding decor. We wanted the space to be elegant, so we went with gorgeous linen tablecloths from Mia Sylvia, which draped on the floor, and glass candle holders (at different heights) with green candles. Our wedding favours then had a green ribbon to match the colour of the candles.
My father (Jess) organised the transport as a surprise, and I couldn't believe it when they arrived. The company was called Roaring 30s. My dad and I travelled in a Beauford replica of the Dussenburg Grand Tourer of the 1930s. My mother, sister-in-law, and bridesmaids travelled in an Asquith Limousine Taxi.
All the wedding cars were beautifully decorated with ribbons and flowers. They also had champagne for Jack and I to toast on the drive to the beach, post-ceremony.
Our wedding flower decor was done by Flowers with M with help from Katie, and it was incredible. We had a broken arch at the church, so the florist took this and scattered it across the top table, then draped it down on the floor. We then had an archway of flowers at the entrance to the hotel. I really have never seen flowers like them; they were exquisite.
I wore the Mayfair dress by Halfpenny London, paired with their Dandelion Veil from Amare, and Manolo Blahnik shoes.
I wanted to incorporate my late grandmother's pearls into my accessories, so Lori Muldoon and I designed earrings around them. We went for a porcelain style to match the detailing of my dress. Lori also created a gorgeous, elegant wedding hairpiece in gold with pearls and porcelain to match the earrings. This sat underneath my veil, so it was an extra touch when I removed my veil in the evening.
I also wore my mother’s engagement ring, which was very special, and my "something blue".
My wedding hair was done by Hair By Emma C and my wedding make-up by Georgina Yates.
The bridesmaid dresses had to be different to sit against my wedding dress. I didn't want a traditional colour; I wanted something that would stand out from other bridesmaid dresses. I have always adored the colour hot pink, and when the girls put their Maids to Measure dress on, we knew it was the one. We also adored the flower girl dresses from Next with the detailing and bow on the back of the dress.

We had D-Rymez, who is Jack's best friend and groomsman, as our wedding DJ. We didn't want anyone else to do our music. Bani is honestly just the very best and knows our music taste, so he insisted on doing it for us. Everyone stayed on the dance floor for the whole evening; he is just so talented, knowing exactly what an audience wants.
Our first dance was 'You Send Me' by Aretha Franklin, which was in honour of my gorgeous late grandmother.
There really are not enough perfect words to describe our wedding day; it was honestly a dream. Fowey is such a special place, and it completely has our hearts. When the sun is shining on it, there is no better place in the world. It is so picturesque, and we felt honoured that we were able to get married there.
The whole community got involved and came out to watch us and wish us well. Coming out of the house and then out of the church was magical. We didn't just share our wedding day with our friends and family; we shared it with a whole community in a place that we adore. The venue and the suppliers really made it very special too. We worked with some incredibly talented people who made our dream come true. The Fowey Harbour Hotel went above and beyond for us, and our guests enjoyed every moment of being there.
There are too many to mention!
My parents organised canapés and bubbles at The Fowey Yacht Club the night before the wedding. This was a standout moment, as everyone got to meet and say hello before the big day. The sun was shining, and it was so special looking around on the terrace with the estuary in the background and all of our favourite people together.
Another unforgettable moment was when we first saw each other in the church and exchanged rings. It was just us together, in the moment, smiling away. Or having our special time on the beach after the ceremony, just the two of us together with the photographer, next to the place where we got engaged.
I will also remember our wedding canapes and champagne on the lawn while having group photographs with our loved ones. My brother and sister-in-law were in the bar at the time, so they came running down the hill with a drink in hand to quickly get in the photographs.
The first dance, just staring into each other's eyes, and later that night, just letting our hair down with our favourite people. The incredible speeches by my father (Jess), Jack, Jack's brother/bestman, and my maid of honour... We feel so incredibly lucky to have the friends and family that we do, who made our day so perfect.
Take in every moment. The day goes by so quickly, so stand back for a second and soak it up. Also, don’t forget to enjoy the build-up. No one tells you how stressful it can be, and we really regret not enjoying the lead-up to the wedding with everyone. You only get married once, so don't let the stress overshadow what will be the best day of your life.
Remember, the day is about you as a couple and your future together; don't let anyone else tell you otherwise because it is your day. My best friend also organised a quick meditation session on the morning of the wedding, and that was perfect. Take that time for yourself to prepare for the rest of the day.
