Join us as we run through our must-have wedding presents for 2018.
February was an exciting (and somewhat exhausting) month - we launched our new name, relaunched our website and ventured across the UK and Europe to all the best seasonal trade shows, in search of amazing new products and brands. Full of inspiration, teamed with a peruse of our inspiring London showroom, we felt it was only right that we share our predictions for the top wedding present trends for 2018. By all means, this is not exhaustive but it's a good place to start!
In case you haven't heard about our showroom, it's the best place to start to get some inspiration for your wedding list. A haven away from wedding stress, it's a double-storey space located in the heart of Chelsea, London and is arranged by room - a mini home - where you can see, feel and touch thousands of presents in real life. By appointment only, you will have your own dedicated wedding list advisor to help you every step of the way, and the Nyetimber is always on ice. There's no rush, and there's no pressure. Available to browse is an extensive collection of timeless and contemporary trends, alongside brochures from all our top suppliers - so take your time, curl up on our sofa with a cup of coffee and enjoy browsing - we can always arrange for samples to come into our showroom from any of our suppliers in case you spot something you love that we don't already have.
Certain big name brands will always make our list of top presents, there's a reason they get added to lists time and time again as they are timeless, great quality and will last a life time. Cue The White Company linen, Le Creuset cast iron cookware and Riedel glassware
More contemporary trends and brands have also stormed the showroom and couple's lists so far this year. These brands are the likes of, Porta Romana with their eclectic and totally unique lighting (who doesn't want a gold duck feet lamp base with a feathery shade?), Ercuis with their playful silver plated name place holders and Robert Welch with their sleek and modern homewares (their cutlery is by far the most popular choice for our couples).
The fusion of trend and tradition is a combination we try to promote at The Wedding Present Co. Teaming timess classics that will last a lifetime with of-the-moment must have pieces is a great way to build a wedding list that you love now and in the future. The vast majority of our couples choose a mixture of one-of-a-kind antiques (a service that is completely unique to The Wedding Present Co.) and contemporary items that effortlessly compliment each other, you might even say the perfect marriage...
Roberts Radios are a key example of this, they have taken a traditional item and put a technological spin on it. A classic design has been revived with the latest modern technology.
William Yeoward is another example of classic style combined with modern trends. Their showstopping Isadora Pineapple is the perfect mixture of an on trend subject crafted out of traditional and timeless cut glass. A similar trend to Rosanna Lonsdale’s lamps, a conventional shape with tradtional craftsmanship topped with a creative spin.
