Today we are delighted to share the English country garden wedding of Freddy and Harry. Following months of restrictions, the WPC couple finally had the wedding they had always dreamed of, in West-Sussex, with all their friends and family. Read on to hear the bride’s advice in staying calm and organised ahead of the big day.
Everything that you have on your website is so beautifully curated which made creating our list very exciting, and also incredibly easy.
Pooky, Club Matters, Klimchi, Maison Margaux, Casafina and Sarah K... too many!
'The Wedding Present Company website has such a wide array of items to choose from, and offers endless inspiration, building your gift list can seem a bit of a daunting task otherwise!'
After several months in lockdown in 2020, Harry organised a camping trip down in Devon. Keen to avoid public campsites, Harry had managed to find the most magical location by getting in touch with local landowners and enquiring if they would be willing to let us camp on their land for a night (I was convinced no one would say yes but turns out people are generally quite happy to help a man when he wants to propose!).
When we turned up the lovely landowners had set up bamboo flares by a small river and managed to drag a beautiful copper fire pit there as well filled with logs and kindling- it was all very romantic. Harry and I set up our tent there and then he suggested a walk... By the time we returned to our campsite I had a beautiful engagement ring on my finger and a huge grin on my face! All in all, Harry planned it perfectly and we were also so lucky with the weather and we couldn't have asked for more wonderful hosts, who were so thoughtful setting us up in the most idyllic spot!
An English Country Garden - although the flowers felt like something out of Hollywood and made the whole event!
We were married at a beautiful church in South Harting in West Sussex, followed by a reception and dinner and dancing at my parents’ home nearby.
The church flowers and my stunning bouquet were created by The Blacksmith's Daughter. My wonderfully talented sister-in-law, Camilla Mossop, did the flowers for the reception and wow- did she do the most incredible job....!
Little Eglantine provided the outfits for the Flower Girls and Page Boys.
Flo Brooks was our photographer and Powell & Creasey created our wedding video.
Atlantica via Bandsforhire. Our first dance was September by Earth Wind & Fire.
The church service was amazing as we had the incredible L'Inviti Singers and David Guest... I'll never forget walking down the aisle to Zadok the Priest!
Take (at least) three days off before the wedding to avoid being rushed... and work out the logistics of the day beforehand to avoid a last-minute stress! I ended up dressing our little bridesmaids as my big bridesmaids were already at the church!
