Today we celebrate the wedding of WPC couple Shelby and Oscar. The couple met at University in the states and decided to marry in a Tennessee mansion amongst antiques and beautiful foliage. Read on to hear how Shelby and her mom sourced much of the decor in antique shops and their favourite gifts from The Wedding Present Company.
The customer service I received was outstanding. I truly appreciate the organization of the company. Making a list, placing orders, and receiving deliveries was so effortless and quick! I loved that family and friends from all over the world could shop our registry in one place. Further, I appreciated that we could store our items until we were ready for a delivery. Living in a flat in London, receiving deliveries can be challenging if we’re not home. Setting a day and time that we were available to receive our items was great!
'Every email I received from The Wedding Present Company was so attentive, detailed, and efficient.'
My favorite brands were Le Creuset, La Rochere, Kitchenaid, The White Company and Burleigh.
I chose The Wedding Present Company because my sister-in-law had used it for her registry and had a great experience.
We had one shipment delivered. Ryan was extremely friendly and helpful. He was more than willing to carry our boxes up many flights of stairs to our top floor flat. I appreciate how organized and well-thought the entire process was. Everything was packaged so well and in perfect condition!
Oscar and I met 8 years ago at University in the states. We graduated in 2018 and he had gone back to England to work for his family’s company while I stayed in the states to obtain my Masters degree. In October of 2021 I came to England to visit him after not seeing him for 10 months because of Covid. He took me on a walk to Burghley House in Stamford and proposed by the horse stables!
My inspiration was Grandmillenial style, blue and white, pearls, brass, antiques, bows, and Bridgerton!
I chose Ravenswood Mansion in Tennessee for our venue because it is the most gorgeous house filled with antique pieces. It even had English countryside and London maps and portraits throughout the house - it was totally our style!
Most of the decor was found by my mom and I at antique stores! However, we did have some ginger jars and pieces from Lauren Haskell designs, Hill House Home, and Spode.
Flowers were by Belles Fleurs - I knew I just wanted white flowers and greenery everywhere.
My dress was Essence of Australia. Shoes were Loeffler Randall. Reception outfit was Hill House Home. Jewellery was Hazen & Co.
Oscar wore a tan linen suit from House of Bruar.
Chefs Market Nashville. We had chicken with an artichoke cream sauce and filet steak with a bourbon cream sauce - both with roasted broccolini and mashed potatoes.
Bollinger champagne for cocktail hour, Bread & Butter and Oyster Bay for dinner, and a signature mojito named after our dog - Charlie
Snyder entertainment. We didn’t do a traditional first dance and instead invited all couples to share a slow dance with us - The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. We walked down the aisle to songs from Bridgerton!
I made them myself on Canva!
Having all of our friends and family from around the world together in one place! Also, Oscar and I had a minute to ourselves right after the ceremony where he popped a bottle of Bollinger and we had a glass before everyone joined us for cocktail hour.
My best advice is to choose three elements of your day that are most important to you and focus on that. I didn’t want a perfectly planned wedding and wanted the day to progress naturally. Don’t worry if something doesn’t go to plan - odds are it’ll turn into a memorable story! My dress was too long so every time I turned I nearly tripped. Everyone kept asking me to dance and I couldn’t! I loved my dress and didn’t want to change but was so glad I brought an extra outfit with me. Once I changed into a more comfortable outfit I had the time of my life moving and dancing with everyone!
