Welcome to Real Wedding Inspiration, where we collect and curate beautiful wedding stories. We invite Wedding Present Company couples to share favourite moments from their special day — and we have stunning photos of every last detail.

Set between the historic beauty of Chelsea Old Church and the candlelit elegance of The Belgravia, Molly and Conor’s black-tie winter wedding in London was all about atmosphere, warm hospitality and meaningful detail. Dark florals and soft festive touches set the tone, and with vintage Routemaster buses carrying guests through the city, London felt like part of the celebration from start to finish.

As Events Director at Doggart & Squash, Molly brought her little black book of wedding suppliers to the planning process, shaping a day that felt polished without ever feeling too formal. “I knew exactly who I wanted to work with, and it was just a matter of availability. Thankfully, every single supplier was,” she says. The result balanced considered styling with genuine ease, from a menu created by her own team to the personal touches that gave the day its heart, including a Christmas tree decorated with guest-gifted baubles.

Engagement Story

Conor’s engagement proposal was intimate and quietly perfect, unfolding in the calm of the couple's own home just before Christmas. And what Molly believed was an early start to her final workday before the holidays was, in fact, a carefully orchestrated surprise. “We were in bed having coffee, and I thought I was the only one who had to go into work early,” Molly laughs. “Conor and my boss had been in cahoots. I actually had the whole day off.”

By 6.30 am, while the rest of London slept, Conor had proposed. With no rush to share the news, the couple spent the morning savouring the moment together. “It was actually lovely,” Molly reflects. “We just got to enjoy it before telling our families and friends.”

Wedding Planning

With a December date set, Molly and Conor envisioned a celebration that felt seasonal yet timeless, an elegant and atmospheric winter wedding in London with a soft festive edge. “We wanted dark flowers and beautiful lights,” Molly explains. “Not overly Christmassy, but definitely a hint of Christmas.”

Working within the industry as Events Director and Partner at our friends, Doggart & Squash, Molly had a clear vision for the team she wanted to bring the day to life. “I knew exactly who I wanted to work with, and it was just a matter of availability. Thankfully, every single supplier was,” she says. Planning the wedding herself, Molly leaned on her experience while keeping a clear sense of perspective. A simple wedding planning checklist helped her stay organised while still enjoying the creative side of the process. “We genuinely loved organising everything,” she adds. “And on the day, everything was incredible.”

With Andrew, Ellie and Lexie from the Doggart & Squash events team taking the lead on the day, Molly could finally switch off her event brain and just enjoy it, something she admits she hadn’t been sure would be possible.

"Coming into The Wedding Present Company showroom and picking everything for our list was such a joy. I’d been there many times with work, but it was the best being on the other side."

The Wedding Present Company Experience

For Molly, choosing The Wedding Present Company felt very natural. “We’ve worked with The Wedding Present Company for years, and I know they’re great to work with and have such beautiful brands,” she says.

One of the highlights was visiting The Wedding Present Company showroom, this time from the other side. “I’d been in their Chelsea showroom many times with work, but it was the best being on the other side,” Molly shares. “Coming in and picking everything for our list was such a joy.”

From answering every wedding gift list question to choosing the wedding gift ideas that would truly last, the team at The Wedding Present Company made the experience feel effortless. Their registry featured much-loved brands including Nkuku and Amuse La Bouche, alongside pieces chosen to be used and enjoyed for years to come. From patterned crystal wine goblets and handmade glass tumblers to a cranberry splatter serving platter, striped cushions and elegant Addison Ross photo frames, every item was selected with longevity in mind. One standout was the rechargeable lamps with shades from Pooky. “We absolutely love them,” Molly notes, already imagining them glowing softly during future dinner parties.

Wedding Venue

Molly and Conor’s wedding ceremony took place at the historic Chelsea Old Church. From there, guests travelled through London aboard vintage red Routemaster buses, a nostalgic nod that suited the city setting perfectly and captured the spirit of a winter wedding in London.

The wedding breakfast and reception then continued at The Belgravia, whose refined interiors provided the perfect backdrop for Molly and Conor’s vision, warm, romantic and effortlessly stylish.

Bridal Outfit & Accessories

Molly’s bridal look centred around a bespoke take on a Jesus Peiro gown sourced from Miss Bush Bridal. Crafted from luxurious Regina satin, the dress featured a full skirt with pockets and a strapless cupped bodice, finished with a sleek overtop. Molly customised the look with floaty bracelet-length chiffon puff sleeves inspired by another Jesus Peiro style, adding softness and movement to the silhouette.

“When I first came to Miss Bush, I came on my own,” Molly explains. “I wanted to work it out for myself first.” As fittings progressed, her mum, sister and bridesmaids joined her. “As it all started to come together, they saw exactly why I loved the dress so much,” she adds.

Accessories were kept intentionally simple. A delicate veil, understated shoes with a gold heel and earrings worn by Molly’s mum on her own wedding day added meaning to the look. For dancing, Molly changed into green velvet platform shoes, a practical and playful choice that was perfectly suited to the evening.

Wedding Hair & Make up

Molly entrusted Portraits Bridal with her hair and make-up, opting for a look that felt polished yet natural. “They were amazing to have there on the morning of our wedding,” she says. “They fitted in so nicely. It just felt calm and relaxed.”

Groom’s Style

The groom's look was perfectly suited to a winter wedding in London. Conor wore a classic black tuxedo with a crisp white shirt and black bow tie, finished with a simple boutonnière that picked up the rich tones of the florals. A neatly folded pocket square and polished black shoes completed the ensemble, while clean lines and thoughtful tailoring gave the look an easy confidence that suited the mood of the day.

Bridesmaids' Fashion

In line with the relaxed feel of the day, Molly encouraged her bridesmaids to choose their own dresses. The result was an easy, fun mix of styles, with soft metallics, fluid satins and touches of sparkle sitting comfortably alongside one another. Each look brought its own sense of personality to the group, while still feeling cohesive.

Wedding Flowers & Décor

For the wedding flowers, Molly turned to Lex Hamilton Floral Studio, whose designs brought the couple’s vision to life. Rich burgundy blooms were paired with deep green foliage and softened with blush and ivory tones, creating arrangements that felt seasonal, confident and considered. “Lex absolutely nailed the brief,” Molly says. “The dark colours worked perfectly with our aubergine tablecloths.”

The flowers carried through every corner of the venue, from Molly’s loosely gathered bouquet of blush roses and textured blooms to the low table arrangements set among flickering candlelight. Along the mantelpieces, fuller floral displays added depth and warmth to the space. A 10ft Christmas tree, decorated with baubles brought by guests, completed the scene. “We got given some beautiful decorations,” Molly smiles. “I can’t wait to put the tree up every year and remember the day.”

Wedding Stationery

Designed by Liv’s Letters, the couple decided to keep the wedding stationery simple. The wedding invitation design set the tone with soft botanical detailing and classic typography, a look that was echoed in the menus and wedding seating plan on the day.

Wedding Catering

As Events Director at Doggart & Squash, Molly knew exactly who she wanted to cater their wedding, and it was always going to be her own team. “We had smoked mackerel pâté to start,” she says, followed by a main course of bangers and mash. “The waiting staff brought round extra sausages too, which the guests loved.”

Dessert was deliberately informal. “We didn’t sit for pudding,” Molly explains. “We had sticky toffee pudding going around, and that was our cake.” Finished with generous spoonfuls of warm toffee sauce added by the chefs, it was a relaxed and indulgent end to the meal.

Wedding Drinks & Bar

The wedding bar then mirrored the couple’s love of classic flavours, serving Picantes and Old Fashioneds throughout the evening, a crowd-pleasing choice that kept the celebrations flowing well into the night.

Wedding Music & Entertainment

For their wedding music, Molly and Conor chose LDN Showband. Their first dance song was Dancing in the Moonlight by Thin Lizzy, a relaxed take on a classic British wedding tradition that set the tone for the night ahead. From there, the band quickly turned the evening into a lively celebration. “The band were better than we could have ever imagined,” the couple says. “I don’t think people left the dancefloor until the end,” Molly adds.

Wedding Highlights

For Molly, the real magic of the day was the people. “Having the Doggart & Squash team there was so special,” she says. “The whole day was just incredible. Having all your favourite people in one room is something we will never forget.”

From the packed dancefloor to the quieter moments in between, it was that sense of togetherness that stayed with them most. With everything in the hands of people she trusted, Molly was able to relax, step away from her usual role and simply enjoy the day as it unfolded.

A Last Piece of Wedding Planning Advice…

When it comes to advice for couples planning their own wedding, Molly keeps it simple. “Enjoy it,” she says. “It really is the best day ever. Everything works out in the end, and accept people’s help too. You don’t need to be doing it all on your own.”
