The first key element to this look is formal china. You know, the super special fine bone china that you pull out for the most special of occasions. Historically, it was a given that couples building a traditional wedding list would add a set of formal and informal china to their wedding lists to cater for every occasion. Nowadays, we are seeing a slight shift towards just the informal china set, something that can bridge the gap between the every day and the super special. It's a more practical solution where space isn't a luxury, however do not under estimate how wonderful a set of formal china is on your wedding list. This may be the only time you consider something of this calibre - it's not the kind of thing you would go and buy on a whim. It's something that, if you choose well, will last you a lifetime and will forever be an incredibly special reminder of this momentous time in your life.

For this tablescape, Chenai chose fine bone china from British brand The Present Company. Featuring beautiful palm tree and monkey motifs, these dinner and starter plates are full of character but still blend in perfectly with almost any colour scheme. Chenai has cleverly teamed the china with a pale linen tablecloth by Himla which instantly makes the look more relaxed, inviting and modern.

Chenai elevates the table by adding a mixture of textures from cut glass, ivory cutlery, ceramics, silver and brass. The garlic bud vases create a statement but don't detract from the look, allowing for the simplest of buds to create an impact. Table acessories are central to this look, including the silver elephant wine coaster, smart salt and pepper pinch pots and water jugs adding interest and also practicality.
