WPC 2017 Press Day: An Afternoon of Wedding Inspiration

We were delighted to hold our annual press event at our London showroom and host an afternoon of wedding inspiration with Wick & Tallow, Wildwood London and Atlas & I.

The afternoon started with a lesson in bouquet arranging from the brilliant Charlotte, founder of bespoke floral studio Wildwood London, creating our own hand-tied bouquets. Charlotte chatted through how we should arrange our flowers starting with the largest rose and spiralling the stems to create a natural, well proportioned bouquet. It was great fun and everyone took to it like ducks to water. If you are looking for an interactive and creative activity for your hens, then this is a wonderful way to spend the afternoon with friends and a glass of sparkling wine. Charlotte regularly hosts bouquet and modern calligraphy courses with modern calligrapher Palepress London, click here for more information.

Our final bouquets were made up of gorgeous seasonal flowers and foliage including; Norma Jean Roses, Astrantia, Thistle, Astilbe, Eucalyptus and Salal Tips – the perfect combination for a spring wedding.

The wonderful luxury home fragrance brand Wick & Tallow were also on hand to show us how to “scent your wedding”. Founder Alice Malcolm-Green had laid out a beautiful table, showing us how you can use scented candles and larger column candles to add height and variety to your wedding table decorations. A clever tip was placing a few sprigs of eucalyptus around candles in hurricane lamps. Wick & Tallow produce our bespoke WPC candles and can offer brides and grooms a fully bespoke service when it comes to scenting their wedding, from creating bespoke designs for the glass to bespoke scents.

The showroom smelt beautifully of Wick & Tallow’s floral range of scented candles, with our favourite being White Rose & Eucalyptus - a scent Alice created for her own wedding!

You can read more tips from Alice on how to scent your wedding here.

We also had the chance to chat with Sophie Kirkpatrick from Atlas & I, one of our new suppliers, who had a display of her fabulous range of bespoke personalised photo albums, journals, prints and keyrings. Her bespoke service includes leather photo albums and journals featuring your wedding invitation or favourite wedding photo printed on the front, or perhaps a map of your honeymoon destination or wedding location. Sophie also showed us how she can create a framed print with the silhouette of your church overlaid onto a map of where you got married. The perfect keepsake to remind you of your special day.

Press also had the opportunity to take a tour of our showroom with one of our wedding list advisors, receiving the fully personalised WPC service that we are famous for! Walking around our double story showroom, press were able to peruse the thousands of gorgeous products we have on display in our mini-home. With the showroom arranged by room, they had great fun pulling out their favourite presents and arranging them like they might do so in their own home. Our wedding list advisors also gave some of our top tips for creating the perfect wedding list, and answered any burning questions on wedding list etiquette!

All washed down with some delicious Château Léoube Sparkling wine.
