We love an Autumn Wedding. Some of you may have already been planning an autumn wedding, and some of you may find yourselves planning one after postponing your Spring/Summer wedding. Read on to see our round up of our most loved Autumn Wedding Inspiration. From flowers, to wedding presents to wedding dresses to marquee decor, we've got you covered.
Autumn is all about getting cosy with deep, rich hue of red, mahogany and earthy greens topped off with coppers and warm bronze. Texture adds cosiness and interest to your interiors.
We love Rattan placemats and the relaxed look of a linen tablecloth from the likes of Himla for adding texture and warmth to your table. Soft furnishings such as feathery cushions from Andrew Martin and Wicklewood and gentle warm lighting from Laurie Lamps and Pooky all add to the hygge of a room.
With the nights drawing in earlier, cocktail hour and cooking take centre stage. We love a good cocktail trolley and The Pig recipe book is full of wonderful recipes and tips.
We love the abundance of rich tones available in Autumn when it comes to your wedding flowers. Full of warmth and depth, chocolately browns mixed with golden peachy pinks and dark green foliage create a beautifully warm and feminine look that will easily rival the most romantic of summer flowers. Did we mention it's also dahlia season. Enough said really.
"There are so many things to love about Autumn weddings but for me of course the flowers have to be up there. Warmer tones begin to shine through and reflect what's happening outdoors in nature. One of my favourite things about Autumn wedding flowers is the foliage; rich and earthy tones that remind us of the changes in season. As well as rich tonal foliage, the flowers are equally beautiful; scented chocolate Cosmos, big and bold Anemones, beautifully bright Dahlia and of my personal favourite, Ranunculus"

Don't be disheartened if you had your heart set on a Spring/Summer marquee wedding. The brilliant thing about a marquee is that they are wonderfully versatile and will still work just as well, if not better, in Autumn.
Soft mood lighting and clever little details can make for the most romantic of settings in your marquee. Papakata specialise in beautifull sperry tents and cosy tipis that are full of character and need very little added extras to make an impact. They also specialise in the smaller details, for that extra wow factor. Think festoon lights, hurricane lamps, and firepits (both indoor and outdoor).
Layering is key to a beautiful autumn wedding tablescape. Think tonal colours and texture to create a warm, simple yet super stylish effect.
"Autumn is one of the loveliest times for a wedding, the light is soft and golden which lends itself to a colour scheme of coffee and cream shades. Dresses with sleeves are perfect, such as our Daisy gown with its long guipure lace sleeves and pretty cuff detail. Alternatively, a jacket over a dress is another option, our Gerbera jacket with its quirky large buttons and sixties style collar looks great over a crepe dress or a full skirt. If you already have your dress, adding a jacket is the simplest way to update your look for an autumn wedding.”
There are so many brilliant options available for your bridesmaids. Dresses that your girls will love, and dresses that will be timeless in your photos for the years to come.
When it comes to choosing a colour, think of something that will compliment your flowers; deep reds, dark greens, golden peach, sage green and of course neutrals.
Our go-to places for stylish bridesmaids dresses include Maids to Measure, TH&TH and Rewritten. We love the idea of a jumpsuit in aubergine or red by Rewritten below.
Autumn and comfort food go hand in hand. There's an abundance of delicious food in season, from blackberries and apples to cauliflower, butternut squash and pumpkin. Most wedding caterers will love to factor in locally sourced seasonal produce into your wedding menu.
One of our favourite parts of any wedding menu is the canapé list. We chatted to Sarah Haggie from Doggart and Squash about her favourite autumn flavours and canapés that are fail safe crowd pleasers.
"The change in season brings new options to explore, you can start thinking about the best of British game such as venison, wild duck, partridge, pheasant and grouse; the amazing British root vegetables available such as celeriac and Jerusalem artichokes and the fruits such as plums, blackberries and quince. Our most loved Autumn canapés are:
- Mini Yorkshire Pudding with Rare Roast Venison, Blackberries and Jerusalem Artichoke
- Porcini, Goats Cheese and Thyme Aranicini with Aioli
- Spiced Ginger Pavlovas with Blackberries and Apple Compote"
Peardrop London have totally inspired us with their delicious autumnal starter and main course suggestions. Goats Curd and Beetroot Salad, followed by Fried Chicken and Truffle Mac and Cheese.
For pudding, you really can't go wrong with a Sticky Toffee Pudding, or a mouth-wateringly good Chocolate and Salted Caramel Tart from Surrey caterers Two Many Cooks.
Champagne is always a winner at weddings, no matter what season! However, an Autumn wedding lends itself to a more creative bar menu. Think Spiced G&Ts, Blackberry Margaritas and Espresso Martinis.
If you're really serious about your cocktails, then look no further than the incredible The Cocktail Service.
